World's largest food trade logistics hub to be developed in Dubai

Amna bint Abdullah Al Dhak Al Shamsi, the Minister of Climate Change and Environment of the United Arab Emirates, says that the launch of the development plan of the world logistics center for the trade of food, vegetables and fruits and the establishment of a vegetable market in Dubai are valuable and vital for the economy.


According to Amac News: Al Dhak Al-Shamsi said that this plan is important for improving food security and improving the entire food value chain at the local and global level.
He added that facilitating food trade and diversifying food import sources are key priorities of the UAE National Food Security Strategy 2051.
He further noted that the development of the world's largest logistics zone for food trade in Dubai will strengthen the UAE's position as a global center for food trade.
The minister explained that this will attract more direct investment in this sector and increase local food production and its flow to domestic markets for consumption and export purposes.
In addition, this phase accelerates efforts to transform traditional food systems into sustainable and climate-smart systems.
she emphasized that this pioneer project is a significant step towards doubling the size of the food trade market in the UAE, while at the same time making the country more flexible in facing the challenges of international food trade and providing food at affordable prices. Competitiveness helps.
