Officials of the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology of Afghanistan say that with the creation of 279 telecommunication sites, the problems of citizens in accessing telecommunication services in 18 provinces and 320 districts will be solved.


According to Amac News: Inayatullah AlKozi, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology of Afghanistan, in a conversation with the Afghan News Agency, said that these telecommunication sites will be established in Faryab, Zabul, Paktia, Kunduz, Kandahar and a number of other provinces of the country, and in the near future, the citizens of these The provinces will benefit from telephone and internet services.
Alkozi says that this project includes 450 sites, of which 171 sites will be implemented and 279 sites will be completed by the Afghanistan Telecommunication Services Regulatory Authority (ATRA).
About the high price of the Internet, he said that the price of the Internet in Afghanistan is high because it is purchased from South Asian and Central Asian countries.
Mr. Alkozi added that the ministry is trying to complete the remaining work of the fiber optic network in Afghanistan, and with the completion of this network in the country, the speed of the Internet will increase and its price will decrease.
He said about the problems and criticism of the country's citizens regarding the decline in the telecommunications quality of the MTN company, that this company will operate in Afghanistan until the end of this year, and in the beginning of 2024, this company will start its operations in the country under the name of (M-ONE).
The spokesman of the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology of Afghanistan says that the changes made in this telecommunication network do not affect the accounts of MTN users and only the name of the company changes.
Alkozi said that the ministry is trying to collect illegal SIM cards from the market and the SIM cards that have not yet been registered will be completed and then raw SIM cards will enter the market.
According to him, illegal SIM cards are currently prohibited, and 22-23 million people in the country have active SIM cards, and more than 12 million others use Internet services.
Meanwhile, the Acting Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Afghanistan has opened 450 telecommunication sites in remote provinces of the country and said that the total value of these sites is 27.5 million dollars.
The Acting Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Afghanistan said that with the completion of these projects in the remote provinces of the country, the problems of citizens in accessing telecommunication services will be solved and employment opportunities will be provided for a number of citizens of the country.
