The Dubai Road and Transport Authority (RTA) announced in a statement that it has completed the construction of 10 out of 16 truck rest stations in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC).


According to Amac News: RTA stated in the announcement that these facilities are strategically distributed in six key locations.
According to the announcement, truck traffic covers rest areas of more than 75,000 square meters with an operational capacity of more than 5,000 trucks and heavy vehicles and 700 parking spaces.
The area of ​​each resort is 5,000 to 10,000 square meters, with a capacity of 30 to 45 trucks and heavy vehicles. These facilities include service facilities, prayer rooms, diesel fueling stations and driver's rest room.

According to him, this requirement is due to the high volume of truck trips in Dubai, which is more than 300,000 trips per day, carrying approximately 1.5 million tons of goods per day.
In 2023, RTA signed an agreement with ADNOC to build and operate an integrated truck rest area near Emirates Road, adjacent to the Al Tayy race track.
Covering more than 76,000 square meters, this station has a capacity of 150 vehicles. The rest area offers comprehensive services that enhance the safety and well-being of drivers.
