Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, part of the M42 Group, has reported that it has performed its first simultaneous robotic kidney transplant for donor and recipient using a single robot.
According to Amac News: The report states that this complex surgery was performed through technological innovations and cooperation with the Cleveland Clinic of the United States of America.
According to the report, the procedure involved a UAE national donor and recipient, both of whom were treated in separate operating rooms with a similar robotic system that mimics surgeons' movements with high precision.
Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi is the first multi-organ transplant center in the UAE. This hospital is investigating the use of robotic technology in liver transplantation.
The hospital has already performed seven successful robotic-assisted donor surgeries aimed at minimizing incision size and improving patient outcomes.
