With the publication of the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report 2023, Masdar City announced that it has demonstrated significant achievements in the field of sustainable real estate, energy and water conservation, and waste management.

According to Amac News: Masdar's report states that Masdar City, which has more than 1000 companies, has achieved a 30.6% reduction in energy consumption intensity in 2023 compared to the ASHRAE baseline.
According to the report, this figure is equivalent to removing 3392.6 tons of carbon dioxide emissions or removing 807 gasoline cars from the roads for one year.
In the Masdar City report, it is emphasized that the intensity of energy consumption has been reduced due to passive design and energy performance management.
Water conservation efforts resulted in an 18.3 percent reduction in potable water use compared to the Estidama PBRS baseline, saving 42,901 cubic meters of water, enough to fill 17.2 Olympic-sized swimming pools.
In terms of waste management, the urban development achieved operational waste diversion of 57% of the amount of landfill through composting and recycling, which resulted in a reduction of 92.4 tons of carbon emissions.
In addition, construction waste reduction is improved by using prefabricated techniques and modular design in the design and construction phases.
Looking to the future, Masdar City is committed to promoting sustainability and social initiatives. By 2025, the city aims to reduce energy consumption by 45% and improve water efficiency.
Plans are also underway to develop renewable energy capacity, including the development of a photovoltaic power plant for Khazna data centers with a peak capacity of 7 MW.
Masdar City will also continue to welcome key stakeholders, organize B2B networking events and contribute to the local community through social programs.
