The UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MOEI) has issued a statement emphasizing that the Arab Water Forum, hosted in Abu Dhabi, is an ideal platform to highlight the importance of the vital resource.

According to Amac News: In the announcement of the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, Sharif Al Olama, Deputy Minister of Energy and Petroleum Affairs in the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MOEI), said that the UAE is committed to raising awareness about water conservation and achieving water security and sustainability.
Al Olama noted that the UAE has come a long way in conserving water resources through pioneering projects such as desalination plants and networks, and is eager to work with its international partners to improve water security around the world.
He noted that in 2017, the Ministry unveiled the UAE Water Security Strategy 2036, which aims to ensure sustainable access to water in normal and emergency situations.
The overall goals of this strategy are to reduce the total demand for water resources by 21 percent, reduce the water scarcity index by three degrees, and increase the reuse of treated water to 95 percent.
The United Nations report showed that the UAE has an average of 100% in the provision of drinking water and sanitation services and 79% in the integrated management of water resources, one of the best results in the region.
The UAE seeks to improve this result in the coming years by ensuring alignment and integration between water, energy, environment and food strategies.
