The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) announced that 49 Korean companies will participate in the 26th Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX).

This year's participation represents a significant increase in Korean companies from last year, with companies set to showcase the latest technologies and innovative solutions in clean and renewable energy, energy efficiency, water management, sustainability and related sectors.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, ​​founder and chairman of WETEX, said non-oil foreign trade between the UAE and Korea reached about $5.3 billion last year.
According to him, the UAE was Korea's second trading partner in the Arab world and Korea's fourteenth trading partner in 2023, accounting for 20% of Korea's trade with Arab countries.
He added that Korea's direct investment in the UAE is close to 2.2 billion dollars.
The significant increase in Korean companies participating in WETEX this year underlines the importance of the event as a leading global platform for showcasing advanced technologies, innovative solutions and best practices in the water, energy and environment sectors.
