DEWA showcases leading green mobility projects, initiatives at ITS World Congress

The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) announced in a statement that it has participated as a main sponsor in the World Congress on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) 2024, the largest international congress on intelligent mobility systems.


According to Amac News: In the announcement of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, it is stated that during the event, which is organized by the Roads and Transport Authority of Dubai (RTA) until September 20, DEWA will showcase its green mobility projects.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, ​​said that hosting the ITS World Congress in Dubai is a testament to the UAE's global position in the smart mobility sector and its leadership in adopting the latest disruptive technologies of the 4th Industrial Revolution.
These include the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data, in addition to expanding the use of electric technologies and solutions in the transport sector in line with Dubai's 2030 Green Mobility Strategy.
He added that our initiatives are to reduce carbon emissions in the transportation sector in line with the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emission Strategy 2050.
Launched in 2014, DEWA's EV Green Charger initiative provided the region's first public EV charging infrastructure.
Since then the company has been instrumental in developing a network of more than 700 charging stations across the UAE, including more than 400 green charging stations operated by DEWA.
It has also helped increase the number of electric vehicles to more than 30,000 in Dubai – a figure that is expected to double in the coming years.
At the ITS World Congress, DEWA highlights its efforts to develop the Green EV Charger scheme, including the "Green EV Charger User Dashboard".
