The United Arab Emirates and IRENA signed a cooperation agreement

The United Arab Emirates has announced that it has signed a strategic partnership with the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA).


According to Amac News: This partnership was announced on the sidelines of the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York during a joint event between the United Arab Emirates and IRENA.
The UAE and IRENA agreed to support 20 developing countries in strengthening Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) under the NDC Partnership, to increase climate ambitions and take urgent action.
The first global investment at COP28 led to the United Arab Emirates consensus and provides a roadmap for a just energy transition and achieving the goals of the Paris Agreement by tripling renewable energy capacity by 2030.
UAE and IRENA partnership to prioritize and address specific challenges facing developing economies, such as limited technical capacity and access to financial support, to develop and achieve more ambitious national climate plans and Energy is designed.
The partnership supports 20 developing economies to develop more precise and quantifiable renewable energy targets across all sectors, aligning national energy plans with their NDCs.
The UAE has partnered with IRENA to help empower developing countries to accelerate their energy transition by increasing the effectiveness of their NDCs.
