UAE-Jordan non-oil trade increases

The UAE is Jordan’s fifth-largest global trading partner with $4.2 billion, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade Thani bin Ahmad Al Zeyoudi said.


According To Amac News: The Minister of State for Foreign Trade also said that the UAE is interested in strengthening constructive cooperation with various countries through Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreements (CEPA).
He said the signing of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the UAE and Jordan will be implemented later this year after ratification.
He added that the agreement will provide more growth opportunities for businesses, young entrepreneurs and start-ups in both countries and will increase bilateral trade to more than $8 billion by 2032, meeting the ambitions and interests of the two brotherly countries.
Non-oil trade between the UAE and Jordan exceeded $4.2 billion in 2023, registering a 37.9 percent growth over 2021 and a 47.7 percent increase over 2019, Al Zeyoudi noted.
Bilateral non-oil trade has grown by 138 percent over the past decade, making the UAE Jordan's fifth largest global trading partner, he said.
He stressed that mutual investments between the UAE and Jordan are estimated at about $22.5 billion, with the UAE being the largest international investor in Jordan.
By the end of last year, UAE investment in Jordan exceeded $4 billion, accounting for 14 percent of the kingdom's total foreign direct investment, according to Al Zeyoudi.
