Afghanistan's gas production reaches 650,000 cubic tons

Officials at the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum of Afghanistan say that Sheberghan's gas production has reached 650,000 cubic meters per day.


According to Amac News: Humayun Afghan, spokesman for the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, said that gas extraction is currently underway from some areas in Sheberghan province, with 650,000 cubic meters of gas being extracted daily.
According to a spokesman for the Afghan Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, the gas extracted will be used in Jawzjan and Balkh provinces.
The Ministry of Mines and Petroleum of Afghanistan signed a contract with an Uzbek company to explore and extract the Totei Maidan gas in Faryab province worth about $1 billion.
Earlier, the Afghanistan Crude Oil Refineries Association said that 80 percent of the diesel needed in the country's markets is produced by domestic refineries.
According to the union officials, hundreds of millions of dollars have been invested by the private sector in the country's crude oil refining and the process is developing day by day.
