Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi performed the first heart transplant

Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, part of the M42 Group, has announced that it has successfully performed the first combined double heart-lung transplant in the United Arab Emirates.


According to Amac News: In the announcement of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, it is stated that this complex surgery was performed on a 56-year-old Emirati woman suffering from pulmonary hypertension.
Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi has achieved this with the support of the Department of Health - Abu Dhabi (DoH).
This achievement reflects Abu Dhabi's commitment to becoming a leading global healthcare destination, driven by advanced connectivity capabilities, state-of-the-art infrastructure, experienced healthcare professionals and world class facilities.
Since its establishment in 2017, the hospital has performed more than 700 transplants, including 47 lung transplants and 23 heart transplants.
Organ transplant procedures, more than 800 operations by the end of 2023, will help save and improve the lives of many patients.
