Rail Transport Between Afghanistan and China to Be Launched

Yu Xiaoyong, China's special representative for Afghanistan affairs, announced the resumption of rail transport services between Afghanistan and China.


According to Amac News: Yu Xiaoyong, China's special representative for Afghanistan affairs, announced by publishing a post on his X that the Afghanistan-China direct rail transport service was launched.
He mentioned this action as part of the Belt and Road Initiative and wrote: "The China-Afghanistan direct rail transport service was launched in Nantong City, Jiangsu Province, China on October 31, 2024."
Also, Janan Musa Zee, Afghanistan's ambassador to China, wrote on his Facebook page that this rail line was created within the framework of the "One Belt One Road" program and with the efforts of the Afghan Embassy in Beijing.
This railway line is supposed to load containers of goods twice a month from Haiman station in China to Afghanistan.
This railway line passes through the countries of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan and extends to the port of Haritaan in Balkh province.
It should be mentioned that a week ago, China announced the removal of Afghanistan's export tariff.
