Amac News: Based on the NAMLCFTC announcement, representatives from the GCC General Secretariat, the UAE and other Arab countries of the Persian Gulf including the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom of Oman, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Government of Kuwait and the Government of Qatar participated in this three-day workshop.
The workshop focused on examining the UAE's model and experience in strengthening national anti-money laundering (AML) and anti-financing of terrorism (CFT) measures.
With the UAE leaving the FATF gray list in February 2024, Emirati officials shared their national experiences on Targeted Financial Sanctions (TFS), Proliferation Financing (PF) and Cyber Security at the workshop.
Likewise, in this workshop, the UAE, as a country that has been successful in fighting financial crimes, emphasized its commitment to regional cooperation with the GCC countries in the field of AML/CFT.
