Senior cybersecurity officials from EU Member States and the European Commission participated in the annual ‘Blueprint Operational Level Exercise’ (Blue OLEx) to test the Union's preparedness in the event of cyber-related crises.

According to Amac News: Margrethe Vestager, Executive Vice-President for a Europe Fit for the Digital Age, stated: “This exercise will help us strengthen our cybersecurity defenses and ensure a safer digital environment for our citizens and businesses across Member States.”
This year’s exercise was led by Italian authorities with the support of the EU Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA).
The exercise assists cybersecurity officials in identifying weaknesses in the standardized response to incidents and crises. The aim of EU-CyCLONe is to contribute to the management of large-scale cyber incidents and crises at the operational level.
The results obtained during the exercise will aid in the evaluation of a roadmap for a coordinated response to large-scale cybersecurity incidents and crises, which was adopted in 2017.
