Emirates Global Aluminum Company (EGA) today (November 11) announced the extension of the CelestiAL-R supply agreement with the BMW Group for the coming years.

According to Amac News: CelestiAL-R is the first aluminum alloy in the world that is produced using solar energy and recycled metal.
According to Emirati media reports, BMW AG Chairman Oliver Zipes visited the EGA factory in Jebel Ali and Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park in order to sign the new agreement.
EGA has supplied aluminum to BMW Group since 2013, and BMW Group was the first customer to purchase CelestiAL Solar Aluminum in 2021.
Since the beginning of 2023, all metals supplied by EGA to the BMW Group have been of the CelestiAL-R type.
"In the coming years, we will increase the proportion of recycled metal in our CelestiAL-R for the BMW Group," said Abdul Nasser Bin Kalban, CEO of EGA.
Aluminum is infinitely recyclable. Aluminum recycling requires 95% less electricity than new metal production and produces a small amount of greenhouse gases.
EGA is building the largest aluminum recycling plant in the UAE in Al Tawailah. With the completion of this plant, its capacity will reach 170,000 tons of secondary billet per year, and the first hot metal is expected to be produced from this plant in 2026.
