According to international media reports, the Austrian energy company OMV has announced that the Russian state-owned natural gas company Gazprom has stopped gas sales to OMV as of Saturday, November 16.

According to Amac News: Citing Reuters, the Austrian energy regulator E-Control announced that Gazprom cut off gas supplies to Austria at 6 AM local time on Saturday.
OMV is Austria's largest energy supplier, heavily reliant on Russian natural gas. The company noted that it had anticipated this situation. OMV added that Austria will continue to receive gas through imports from Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands.
Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer also stated that the country has secure alternative fuel suppliers, adding, "No one will freeze."
Nehammer emphasized during a press conference at the Chancellery: "Gas supply is secure. Our gas reserves are full, and we have sufficient capacity to obtain gas from other regions."
Russia decided to halt gas sales to Austria after an international arbitration court mandated Gazprom to pay OMV the equivalent of €230 million ($242 million) in a contractual dispute. OMV then announced that it would refrain from making payments to Gazprom until it receives the gas equivalent to the €230 million owed to them.
