Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, noted that these achievements reflect the company's unique position among utility companies in Asia and worldwide, particularly in adopting smart technologies in power transmission and distribution.
Al Tayer also highlighted the company’s investment in creating a smart grid valued at AED 7 billion by 2035. He added that this grid provides advanced features such as interoperability across the electricity and water network, ensuring seamless, fast, and efficient operations.
Smart grids also enhance the efficiency of power transmission and distribution, reduce consumption, strengthen electrical load management, and support the integration of renewable energy sources into the electricity grid.
