The Ministry of Mines and Petroleum of Afghanistan announced in a press release that Hidayatullah Badri, the acting minister of this ministry, met with the president of the contracted company "MCCT" regarding the Aynak copper mine in Logar.

Amac News: The press release stated that Badri and Liu Jun met yesterday (Saturday, December 3) to discuss the Aynak copper mine.
The release mentioned that the parties discussed production plans, project development, and improving technical cooperation during the meeting.
According to the press release, the president of "MCCT" assured the commencement of production work and development plans for the Aynak project.
The acting minister of Mines and Petroleum of Afghanistan emphasized the need to expedite and initiate practical activities at the Aynak mine.
The Aynak copper mine is located in the Mohammad Agha district of Logar province. It is the largest copper mine in Afghanistan and the second largest of its kind in the world.
The total reserves of this mine are 11.3 million tons of copper with a grade of 2.3% copper and a limited amount of gold.
The extraction contract for the Aynak copper mine was signed in 2008 with the "MCCT" company during the previous administration.
