The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs says that 52 percent of those in need of humanitarian aid in Afghanistan are women and girls.

According to Amac News; The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) wrote in X today (Sunday, 20 August) that in 2023 it helped eight million girls and 9.2 million women.
According to this organization, 52% of people who need humanitarian aid in Afghanistan are women and girls.
According to Ocha, in 2024, out of 23.7 million people who need humanitarian aid, 52% of them are women and girls.
This office called for support for Afghan women and girls and said that they bear the greatest impact of the crisis in this country.
However, Rina Amiri, the US special representative for women and human rights in Afghanistan, has written in X that in order to free this country from dependence on aid and poverty, the caretaker government's policies against women and girls should be reversed.
Amiri has written in X that Afghanistan loses more than one billion dollars annually because of this.
However, the authorities of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan have always promised to reopen schools for girls above the sixth grade, but this promise has not been fulfilled so far.
