Afghanistan seeks Iranian expertise to enhance agricultural practices

The Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock of the interim government of Afghanistan has announced that Sadr Azam Osmani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Ministry has traveled to Iran at the official invitation of the country.


According to Amac News: Based on the announcement of the Afghan Ministry of Agriculture, the purpose of this trip is to examine the capacities, capabilities and advanced technologies of the host country in the field of water and soil, especially new irrigation methods.
According to the ministry, this trip was also carried out to strengthen coordination between the Afghan Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The statement added that during this trip, the opportunities available in the Afghan agriculture and livestock sector will be introduced to Iranian investors and the Afghan delegation will try to provide a reassuring environment for their investment.
It is also expected that Mr. Osmani will meet with officials of the Iranian Ministry of Agriculture and discuss and exchange views on strengthening agricultural cooperation and resolving existing problems between the two countries.
