Amac News: among these cars, pure gasoline cars had the largest share with 34.5%, while non-rechargeable gasoline hybrid cars with 21.1%, battery electric cars with 14.5%, and pure diesel cars with 14.3% ranked next.
After rapid growth in battery electric vehicle registrations between 2013 and 2023, the combined share of hybrid and battery electric vehicles in 2023 will be the same as that of pure gasoline and diesel vehicles, 48.3 percent versus 48.8 percent.
In nine EU countries, the share of hybrid and electric vehicles in new registrations in 2023 was more than 50%. The highest shares were reported in Finland (78%) with 44% hybrid and 34% electric, Sweden (69%) with 30% hybrid and 39% electric, and the Netherlands (68%) with 37% hybrid and 31% electric.
On the other hand, Bulgaria recorded the lowest share with 7%, followed by the Czech Republic (20%) and Croatia (28%).
