The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) has announced that it has held its second city conference of the year.

According to Amac News, the DET statement said that the conference highlighted the vital role of tourism, events and related sectors.
According to the statement, the latest edition of the biennial event, which was held at the Dubai Intercontinental Festival City, was attended by more than 1,300 industry executives and professionals, representatives of hotels, tour operators, airlines and other government entities.
Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of DET, stressed the vital role of growing public-private partnerships in driving Dubai’s sustainable development and taking its tourism sector to new heights.
He also highlighted the important role of partners in developing unique solutions and experiences that enhance Dubai’s appeal as a global tourism destination, adding that Dubai continues to introduce new, distinctive initiatives to strengthen its reputation as the world’s best city to visit, live and work.
The announcement said Dubai attracted 14.96 million international visitors from January to October 2024, an increase of 8 per cent compared to the same period last year.
“As we approach 2025, we will look to elevate Dubai’s global position,” said Issam Kazim, CEO of Dubai Company for Tourism and Commercial Marketing (DCTCM).
The event detailed DET’s international operations, which operate from Dubai through 36 brand offices covering more than 60 countries, while underscoring the importance of collaboration at the local and global levels.
Across these markets, DET has established relationships with over 3,000 travel trade stakeholders, including 270 formal or soon-to-be formal contracts.
Emphasizing the importance of face-to-face engagement in promoting Dubai and supporting trade partners, DET has held over 45 international roadshows and workshops this year.
In the second half of 2024 alone, Visit Dubai’s multilingual and multi-platform channels garnered over 290 million interactions.
In addition, strategic partners drove 375 million interactions, while key opinion leaders generated over 104 million interactions, displaying the sector’s extensive digital impact.
