According to
Amac News: More than 2.5 tons of hydrogen have been supplied to ENOC Group’s future service station in Dubai Expo City, sufficient to refuel 500 vehicles and reduce more than 40 tons of CO2 emissions, according to DEWA.
The station is capable of refueling approximately 50 fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) in about eight minutes.
The station is now the only station in the region to offer green hydrogen, hydrocarbon fuels (petrol and diesel) and electric vehicle charging stations.
DEWA will supply green hydrogen at its refueling station, which is supplied by the Green Hydrogen Project.
The Green Hydrogen Project is the first of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa to produce green hydrogen using solar energy. The project is designed and built to consider various applications and test platforms for various uses of hydrogen in the future, including in the aviation, land and maritime transport sectors and other industries.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, CEO and Chairman of DEWA, said that hydrogen is the fuel of the future and a promising alternative to traditional energy sources.
He added that DEWA promotes the use of sustainable transport, such as electric and hybrid vehicles, and supports the reduction of carbon emissions in the transport sector.
The Green Hydrogen Project, which DEWA has implemented in partnership with Expo 2020 Dubai and Siemens Energy, produces about 20 kilograms of hydrogen per hour, and its gas tank can store up to 12 hours of hydrogen produced using solar energy.
