According to
Amac News: Citing the NHK World Japan, the Japan Animation Association announced that the industry's revenue for the year was about 3.3 trillion yen, equivalent to approximately $21 billion.
According to the association, this figure is more than 14 percent higher than the previous record in 2022 and marks the first time it has exceeded the 3 trillion yen mark.
The Japan Animation Association also added that overseas sales, including distribution contracts and related products, reached the highest figures in the nine revenue categories in the survey. Total sales were about 11 billion dollars, an increase of 18% from last year.
Online sales increased by 50% from last year to about $1.6 billion.
Sales of ancillary products were about $4.5 billion and revenue from live entertainment was almost $700 million.
