Ducab Group, an Emirati cable and electrical products company, has strengthened its presence in Africa by supplying 220 kV (HV) high voltage cables to Senegal, marking the 23rd African country in its growing portfolio.

According to Amac News: Based on the company's announcement, this action is a vital part of the electrification project of Dakar, the capital, which aims to update the electricity infrastructure in this city in order to meet the increasing demand for energy.
This delivery, which is in line with Senegal's ambitious goals of achieving universal access to electricity by 2026, will significantly increase the country's energy capacity and contribute to the urban development of Dakar.
This development also aligns with the UAE's recent commitment of $4.5 billion to finance renewable energy initiatives in Africa, and demonstrates a shared commitment to sustainable development and energy transformation.
Ducab Group's entry into Senegal is part of the company's broader growth strategy in Africa, where the company currently exports to 23 African countries, including Angola, South Africa, Kenya, Zimbabwe and Egypt.
Dukab Cables CEO Charles Mellagi said the company's growing presence in key African markets demonstrates its value in developing the continent's infrastructure and aligns with the UAE's broader efforts to strengthen economic ties with Africa.
Dukab's expansion to Senegal comes at a time when UAE-Africa cooperation is developing in economic and political fields.
Recent events, such as the 150 bilateral business meetings between Dubai and Senegalese companies facilitated by the Dubai International Chamber, underscore the UAE's strategic partner in Senegal's economic growth.
