The UAE to build specialized eye-care Hospital in Uganda

According to the instructions of the President of the UAE, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Uganda signed an agreement to build an eye hospital in the city of Entebbe.


According to Amac News: This hospital will be built with an investment of 20 million dollars and under the supervision of Dhiab bin Mohammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office for Development Affairs and Honorary Martyrs, Chairman of the International Charity and Humanitarian Council and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed's Legacy Charitable Foundations.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the UAE by Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Vice President of the Emirates and on behalf of Uganda by Vincent Bagiri Waisa, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Sheikh Dhiab emphasized the importance of this agreement in continuing the UAE's commitment to the advancement of global health services and meeting the medical needs of communities across Africa.
He also said that Erth Zayed charitable foundations plan to establish 10 specialized hospitals within a decade to meet the health needs of underprivileged communities and provide access to health infrastructure.
Meanwhile, Shakhbout bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State and Chairman of the International Health Advisory Committee at the Emirates International Humanitarian and Charity Council, said that the agreement reflects the strong bilateral relations between the two countries.
He stated that with the implementation of development projects, the UAE and Uganda reach new horizons in cooperation.
Sheikh Shakhbut noted that the establishment of a hospital in Entebbe shows the commitment of the leadership in both countries to strengthen bilateral relations and advance health goals.
