The UAE Ministry of Economy's NextGen FDI initiative has partnered with Climate First, a leading European private equity firm specializing in climate innovation investments, to advance the climate technology ecosystem in the UAE.

According to Amac News: The partnership, which will see Climate First bring its portfolio companies to the UAE for networking, partnership and development opportunities, was cemented with the opening of the Climate First UAE Roadshow, in partnership with the UAE Ministry of Economy, at Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) 2025.
The Roadshow brought five pioneering climate technology companies – Climeworks, Energy Dome, ZeroAviva, Cylib and Glasspoint – to Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week for opportunities to build strategic and impactful partnerships with key UAE stakeholders that will lead to meaningful decarbonisation in the UAE.
From direct air capture and battery recycling to electric hydrogen aviation and solar power generators for industrial processes, these five companies are developing some of the most innovative and advanced solutions in key industries.
During ADSW, Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zayudi, Minister of Foreign Trade of the UAE, emphasized the importance of climate technology in advancing sustainable development.
He said: "This partnership shows the UAE's unwavering commitment to innovation and sustainability. "Through the NextGen FDI initiative, we are creating a supportive ecosystem for high-tech companies to advance global efforts to combat climate change."
Climate First, which has invested in more than 50 climate technology leaders globally, saw the UAE as an ideal partner to increase its companies' impact, commercialize opportunities and expand their presence across the region.
Nadav Steinmetz of Climate First said: “We are proud to partner with the UAE Ministry of Economy on Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week. At Climate First, our mission has always been to create impactful change by investing in transformative, carbon-free technologies."
The partnership between NextGen FDI and Climate First aligns seamlessly with ADSW's mission to foster collaboration and provide practical solutions for a more sustainable future.
Launched in 2022, the NextGen FDI initiative is one of the main pillars of the UAE's efforts to diversify its economy and position itself as a global center for innovation.
To date, the program has welcomed more than 20 companies active in future focused sectors such as artificial intelligence, renewable energy, robotics and advanced manufacturing, helping to accelerate the UAE's transition to a knowledge-based and sustainable economy.
