The festival showcases the products of 25 Emirati farmers, local residents and local agricultural companies and aims to showcase agricultural products and services, strengthen cooperation and support the growing UAE agricultural market.
The Hatta Farming Festival is held under the auspices of the Hatta Winter Initiative, which was launched by the order of Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the second crown prince of Dubai and chairman of the Dubai Media Council.
The Minister of Climate Change and Environment of the UAE pointed out the importance of this event in the direction of promoting sustainable national food security and said that agriculture plays an important role in increasing local production and reducing dependence on food imports.
He also noted the special importance of the Hatta region as part of the agricultural heritage of Dubai and the UAE, and said that agricultural development in the region would contribute to the UAE's overall efforts to advance sustainable agriculture.
The Acting Director General of Dubai Municipality also mentioned the role of the festival in the "Dubai Farms" program and considered its goal to be a comprehensive platform for empowering local farmers and strengthening the emirate's agricultural ecosystem.
This year's festival offers a diverse program including the display of agricultural and livestock products, educational workshops and discussion sessions with agricultural experts. Visitors can learn about modern farming practices and hear the success stories of local farmers.
