Amac News: This agreement, which was signed between MBRGI and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) during the World Economic Forum 2025 in Davos, Switzerland, supports the projects and programs of the United Nations to help displaced communities.
This amount brings MBRGI's total assistance to vulnerable and needy communities worldwide to 163.6 million dirhams since 2021.
The agreement was signed by Saeed Al-Attar, Deputy Secretary General of MBRGI and Filippo Grandi, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, in the presence of Mohammad Al-Jarjawi, Secretary General of MBRGI.
Mohammed al-Jarjawi said this commitment to support sustainable projects for refugees and displaced communities reflects the directives of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
On the other hand, UNHCR's Filippo Grandi appreciated MBRGI's continued support and its vital role in enabling UNHCR to carry out its mission of supporting vulnerable and pressured communities.
He added that the strategic partnership and ongoing collaboration between UNHCR and MBRGI is critical to ensure the sustainability of projects and programs for displaced people globally.
During a meeting with Grandi, Al-Jarjawi talked about joint efforts in the framework of their strategic partnership and explored ways to strengthen this cooperation. Their focus was on strengthening support for displaced communities globally through improved services.
