According to Amac News: The two sides discussed strengthening cooperation between the UAE and WIPO with the aim of strengthening the intellectual property (IP) ecosystem and stressed the importance of innovation as a key factor for sustainable growth.
At the meeting, Sheikha Latifa highlighted the UAE’s achievements in fostering creativity and innovation in various sectors, saying that intellectual property is a cornerstone of fostering innovation, empowering creatives and driving economic diversification.
The Head of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority added: “Through collaboration with reputable organizations such as WIPO, we aim to protect intellectual property in order to accelerate the growth of creative industries and innovation sectors.”
Meanwhile, Tang also stressed that WIPO is committed to supporting the UAE in developing a comprehensive and cross-sectoral national intellectual property strategy that is aligned with the country’s ambitious growth goals.
The meeting highlighted the UAE’s long-standing partnership with WIPO, which has played an instrumental role in shaping the country’s intellectual property framework.
The two sides also stressed the role of education and capacity-building initiatives in promoting a deeper understanding of intellectual property within the Emirati diverse society.
