Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak, UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment, has emphasized the country’s commitment to a sustainable energy future and its role as a global leader in the development of renewable energy.

Amac News: She made the remarks on the occasion of World Clean Energy Day, which is held annually on January 26.
Al Dahak called World Clean Energy Day a valuable opportunity to reflect on the role of clean energy in achieving the world’s climate goals, adding that these goals can be achieved through a fair and sustainable energy transition.
The UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment said she was proud that her country has three of the world’s largest solar power plants.
She also announced the launch of a new project that includes solar energy generation and battery storage on a gigawatt scale, 24/7.
The UAE has said that these projects, along with other initiatives such as the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant, which will provide approximately 25 percent of the UAE’s electricity needs, demonstrate the country’s commitment and efforts towards its zero-carbon strategy by 2050. Sheikh Amina added that the UAE is aware that the transition to clean energy requires global cooperation, which is why it actively participates in international forums to support knowledge sharing and promote innovation in the field of sustainable energy.
