Abu Dhabi to host 1,500 delegates from ICAO member states in February

Abu Dhabi is set to host the 4th ICAO Global Implementation Support Symposium 2025 in February, organized by the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).


According to Amac News: The event will also launch the inaugural edition of the “Global Sustainable Aviation Marketplace”, a major initiative in the UAE under the auspices of ICAO. This event aims to accelerate global efforts to develop alternative and low-carbon fuels for the international aviation sector.
The international event will be held from February 10 to 12, 2025, and is expected to attract many participants from around the world.
The event will bring together more than 1,500 participants, including representatives from 193 ICAO Member States, a large number of ministers, heads of state and directors-general, experts in the fields of transport, aviation and energy. The symposium will also feature 150 speakers, including experts, senior government officials and CEOs of leading companies in these critical industries.
The accompanying exhibition, which will be held as part of the event, will showcase 75 global companies specializing in aviation, energy and advanced technologies.
The symposium will be opened by Abdullah bin Tawq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the GCAA, and Salvatore Sciaccatano, President of the ICAO Council.
Al Marri said that the UAE’s hosting of these important and influential international events in the aviation sector reflects the country’s leading position at the regional and global levels and its continued commitment to supporting international efforts to promote sustainability in this critical sector.
Meanwhile, ICAO Council President Salvatore Sciaccatano said: "GISS 2025 brings together countries, industry leaders and stakeholders to shape the future of aviation. The symposium will focus on two critical areas that are transforming the industry: sustainability and artificial intelligence."
