Afghanistan bans use of US dollar in trade transactions

Following the rise in the value of US dollar against “Afghani”, national currency of Afghanistan, the press office of the acting government of this country has issued an order emphasizing the use national currency in transactions among citizens.


According to Amac News: The press office of the Prime Minister's Office of Afghanistan said in a press release on Wednesday, January 29, that no one can carry more than $5,000 through airports and more than $500 through land (borders and frontiers).
According to this order, those who carry more dollars than the specified limit will be sentenced to imprisonment from ten days to one year.
This order was issued by the Prime Minister's Office of the acting government of Afghanistan following the rise in the value of the dollar against the country's currency.
After the US cut off cash aid to Afghanistan, the dollar exchange rate in this country has increased significantly.
Although the Central Bank of Afghanistan has injected millions of dollars into the market this week to maintain the value of the country's currency, the value of the dollar remains high.
