Officials in the Ministry of Economy of China say that the export and import of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) of this country has increased in the first three months of the year.
According to Amac News: Yang Tao, Director General of the Comprehensive Department of MOFCOM, told the media during a press conference that the export and import of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) in the first three months of the year was more than 663 billion dollars.
Yang continued his speech and added: China's total export and import of goods with countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is 4.8 trillion yuan (more than 663 billion US dollars), which represents an increase of 5.5%.
"In the first three months, non-financial outward direct investment (ODI) in participating countries reached 54.32 billion yuan, up 12 percent year-on-year," Yang said.
The "Belt and Road" plan was presented by Chinese President Xi Jinping in 2013. This plan consists of two parts: "Silk Road Economic Belt" and "Maritime Silk Road in the 21st Century". This plan connects the four continents of the world.
