UAE launches first AI competition for school students

The Emirates Safer Internet Society (eSafe) in the UAE has unveiled STOGOCOMP – the country’s first AI and robotics open competition for all students aged 9 to 19.


According to Amac News: In the first edition of the competition, students from public and private schools will use the platform to come up with effective solutions to improve the well-being of children in educational institutions, according to eSafe.
STOGOCOMP is an opportunity for students to develop their science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) skills and increase their knowledge in the fields of artificial intelligence and robotics.
The UAE Safer Internet Society and the Robotics and Automation Society, two non-governmental organizations, have collaborated to organize the competition, which will be held at the University of Dubai, with the technical support of Tachyon 360.
Abdullah Mohammed Al Mahyas, President of eSafe, said that the competition is funded by Disney and is being held in collaboration with the organization’s partners – the Robotics and Automation Society (RAS) and the University of Dubai. Meanwhile, Saeed Al Dhaheri, President of the Robotics and Automation Society, said that STOGOCOMP provides a great platform for students to come up with innovative ideas that will have a real impact.
