Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, CEO and President of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), met with Pierre Lehman, President and CEO of the Project Management Institute (PMI), emphasizing the joint commitment to advancing excellence in project management and promoting collaboration in sustainable development.

Amac News: PMI is a non-profit professional association for project and program managers, founded in 1969 and currently has more than 2.9 million members worldwide.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed leveraging PMI’s extensive expertise in project management to enhance DEWA’s initiatives in the areas of sustainability, innovation and operational efficiency.
Al Tayer emphasized DEWA’s efforts to adopt advanced technologies and sustainable practices to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in delivering transformative energy solutions.
He also highlighted the long-standing partnership between DEWA and PMI that began in 2010. The collaboration has covered a variety of topics, including project management, agility and artificial intelligence, in the form of 18 specialized courses.
By the end of 2024, 280 DEWA employees had obtained the prestigious Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, and another 120 professionals had obtained other PMI certifications.
During the meeting, DEWA also announced the launch of new training programs in the fields of construction management, artificial intelligence in project management and agility-based courses in 2025.
