According to Amac News: Maico Enterprise, the organizer of the Japan/Kyoto Trade exhibition, said it expects strong growth in trade volumes and foreign direct investment (FDI) flows between the UAE and Japan.
Mai Sakaue, CEO of Maico Enterprise and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Japan Trade Exhibition, pointed to the significant growth in participation in the second edition of the exhibition, saying that more than 100 Japanese companies and brands will participate.
Representatives of more than 20 other Japanese companies will also be present at the exhibition
According to data from the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), the UAE is recognized as Japan’s largest export market in the Middle East, with the total value of exports between the two countries reaching $11.3 billion (AED 41.5 billion) between January and November 2024.
The UAE accounts for more than 45% of Japan’s total trade with the Middle East, which reached $24.7 billion during the period. Official data from the UAE Federal Center for Statistics and Competitiveness also ranked Japan as the UAE’s ninth largest trading partner in the first nine months of 2024, with a total trade volume of AED 45.4 billion.
In addition, Japan is recognized as the fifth largest market for the UAE’s non-oil imports during the period.
The second edition of the Japan Trade Exhibition will be held from February 10 to 12, 2025, and will feature a variety of Japanese companies and brands across sectors including technology, artificial intelligence, aerospace, food, engineering, sustainability, tourism, healthcare, and arts and crafts.
“With an expected attendance of around 30,000 visitors, we are confident that the exhibition  will provide tremendous opportunities for participants from the UAE, the Middle East and North Africa,” said Sakaue   .
