According to Amac News, the remarks were made during a meeting with Ahmed Bati Al-Muhairi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Energy in Dubai and a member of the Dragon Oil Board of Directors, following the Egypt Energy Exhibition (EGYPS 2025).
Al-Muhairi also stressed Dragon Oil’s commitment to expanding its investments in Egypt, saying that the company has invested more than $500 million in the country in the past five years and has plans to increase production in the Gulf of Suez region.
Meanwhile, Ali Rashid Al-Jarwan, CEO of Dragon Oil, stressed the importance of using artificial intelligence (AI) solutions to improve operational efficiency and focused on developing human resources to ensure sustainable development.
In his meetings with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, Al-Jarwan highlighted the company’s achievements over the past five years and highlighted Dragon Oil’s growth as a technology-driven and innovative entity in the oil sector.
He added that Dragon Oil has successfully drilled 13 wells and conducted rapid intervention operations on 350 wells to maintain production levels. The company also signed an agreement with the Egyptian Oil Minister at ADIPEC 2024 last year, focusing on research and development in the Al-Wasl field (known as North Safa), adding 8,000 barrels per day of production.
Al-Jarwan also noted that the company’s production has now reached 60,000 barrels per day. The company has used artificial intelligence technologies in two fields and is currently digitizing all operational processes.
He stressed that Dragon Oil remains committed to its expansion strategy to support Egypt’s energy sector and increase production sustainability.
