The Gulfood International Exhibition, one of the world’s largest trade events in the food and beverage industry, was held in Dubai from February 17 to 21.

According to Amac News, the exhibition, which has been held annually since 1987, hosts various companies and manufacturers from around the world and provides an opportunity to introduce and present food products from various countries.
This year, Afghanistan also participated in the exhibition, and its producers showcased their agricultural and food products.
At the event, dried and fresh fruits, saffron, and Afghan-produced beverages were presented in ten special booths.
Afghan producers, hoping to develop export markets and introduce the high quality of their country’s agricultural products, described the exhibition as a great opportunity to enter global markets.
Abdul Wahid, one of the Afghan businessmen present at the exhibition, spoke about the importance of this opportunity and stated that the cost of renting a booth at Gulfood is at least fifteen thousand dollars, but the value of attending such an event is undeniable.
He emphasized that the Gulfood exhibition is the most recognized event in the food industry globally and participating in it can have a significant impact on introducing Afghan products.
Ismail Naseri, another Afghan businessman, also considered Afghanistan’s presence at the exhibition very useful and noted that the special section of Afghanistan at the event is an opportunity to showcase the country’s agricultural capacities.
He added that every year, Afghan products are of interest to international businessmen and this exhibition paves the way for establishing new business relationships and increasing exports.
Meanwhile, Jeff Greco, the president of the Afghanistan-US Joint Chamber of Commerce, who attended the exhibition, reported the interest of various countries, including the United States, in Afghan agricultural products.
He particularly mentioned the widespread acceptance of Afghanistan's dried and fresh fruits and emphasized that the high quality of these products can strengthen Afghanistan's position in international markets.
The exhibition was not only an opportunity to introduce Afghan products, but also provided a platform for direct communication between Afghan producers and global traders and investors.
