Amid rapidly evolving global trends, the UAE has emerged as an innovative country and positioned itself as a pioneer in the future economy.

According to Amac News, the country is building an economic model that combines innovation with global competitiveness and is guided by a strategic vision based on advanced technologies, sustainability and economic diversification.
The UAE’s vision for the future economy is a shift from traditional economic models. The vision is based on three main pillars: reducing dependence on oil and strengthening non-oil sectors such as tourism, manufacturing and financial services; leveraging artificial intelligence, blockchain and robotics to increase productivity and efficiency; and balancing economic growth and environmental protection through clean energy projects and the transition to carbon neutrality.
In line with this vision, Abu Dhabi is set to host the “Investment 2025” summit from February 26-27. The strategic platform examines the future of the national economy and strengthens its competitiveness on the global stage, as the country moves towards a knowledge-based and innovation-driven economy with a focus on advanced technologies and emerging sectors.
The “We, the UAE 2031” vision is the cornerstone of the country’s roadmap for the next decade, which aims to increase the country’s GDP to 3 trillion dirhams, non-oil exports to 800 billion dirhams and foreign trade to 4 trillion dirhams. These goals are supported by a series of strategic initiatives, including “Emirate Impact 2071”, “Principles 50”, “Emirate Blockchain Strategy”, “Emirate Fourth Industrial Revolution Strategy” and “Emirate Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2031”.
Emirati economic experts have stated that the country is building a solid foundation for the growth of knowledge-based sectors and aims to become a global hub for innovation, artificial intelligence and entrepreneurship. Proactive policies – from flexible regulations and tax incentives to international partnerships and support for startups – are at the heart of these efforts.
Ntati Moorosi, Lesotho’s Minister of Information, Communications, Science, Technology and Innovation, highlighted the UAE’s leadership in shaping the economies of the future.
He noted that the country’s pioneering initiatives are paving the way for a new type of economy that even emerging and developing countries can emulate.
Moorosi stressed that the UAE’s focus on innovation has made it a magnet for foreign investment, and his country is keen to benefit from its advanced experiences by strengthening economic ties.
