According to Amac News, the UAE delegation to the meeting was led by Khamis Al-Shamaeli, Secretary-General of the Council for Diplomatic and Consular Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Sherpa of the UAE to the BRICS.
The meeting focused on the priorities set by Brazil, which holds the BRICS 2025 summit presidency, including expanding cooperation in the fields of health, financing efforts to combat climate change, and boosting trade and investment.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the UAE delegation held a number of bilateral meetings with representatives of Egypt, Russia, Brazil, and Ethiopia, during which they emphasized strengthening bilateral cooperation and issues of common interest.
The UAE says its participation in the BRICS meetings reflects its belief that joint global action and multilateral cooperation are more important than ever to address global challenges.
