According to
Amac News, based on Emirati media, the agreement will help improve infrastructure and key development projects across the emirate, including Dubai Islands, Jumeirah Village Triangle, Palm Gate, Al Furjan, Jumeirah Park, Arjan, Majan, Liwan (Phase 1), Nad Al Emar, Villanova and Serena.
Under the agreement, bridges and roads will be developed to improve access to five key Dubai Holding projects, including Jumeirah Village Circle, Dubai Manufacturing City, Business Center, Palm Jumeirah and International City (Phase 3).
In addition, new bridges will be constructed to improve access to Dubai Manufacturing City from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, reducing travel times at entry and exit points and improving traffic flow on internal roads by 50%.
The agreement includes the development of intersections on the Business Centre route from Sheikh Zayed Road, as well as the construction of a pedestrian bridge at the Business Centre intersection with Awal Al Khail Road to improve pedestrian safety and optimize traffic flow.
The agreement also includes the construction of additional acceleration and deceleration lanes along the Palm Jumeirah at six points to optimize traffic flow. In addition, two pedestrian bridges will be constructed to replace level crossings, improving mobility and ensuring pedestrian safety and reducing travel times on the Palm Jumeirah by 40%.
The agreement includes the expansion of the road that marks the entrance to International City (Phase 3) from Manama Street by adding a new lane, widening internal roads and upgrading level crossings with traffic lights to ease traffic flow and improve road safety. These improvements are expected to reduce travel time from 15 minutes to just 5 minutes.
Matar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Executive Board of RTA, expressed his pleasure at signing the agreement with Dubai Holding to improve access points to the group’s key development areas, saying that the agreement will improve the capacity of internal roads and access points, which will result in reduced travel times, improved connectivity for residents and visitors, and increased road safety for all users.
