Vietnam's government has announced that it has approved new policies to achieve a planet free of plastic pollution.

According to Amac News: Vietnam State News Agency (VNA) quoted the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment as reporting that the per capita use of plastic in Vietnam has increased.
The report states that the annual per capita use of plastic in this country has increased from 3.8 kg in 1990 to 41 kg in 2015 and 54 kg in 2023.
The government of Vietnam is announcing new measures to fight the destruction of plastic. In 2019, the country's prime minister announced a national action plan to manage ocean plastic waste by 2030.
Following this initiative, the ministry approved a project to reduce ocean plastic waste in Vietnam. The project, funded by the German Ministry of Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety through the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), has been implemented in 10 districts of Da Nang city and eight other provinces.
