Minister of Economy, Abdullah Bin Touq Al-Mari, met and discussed with Teit Risalo, Minister of Economic Affairs and Information Technology of the Republic of Estonia.
According to Amac News: In this meeting, these two high-ranking officials discussed new economy, entrepreneurship, tourism, aviation, technology, artificial intelligence, transportation and small and medium companies.
In this meeting, Ben Touq emphasized that the economic relations between the two countries will continue to expand in various activities and sectors.
Minister al-Mari also emphasized on flexible economic regulations and policies and added: We have passed laws to allow foreign investors to own 100% of their companies in the UAE.
He further said: This amendment has resulted in the addition of more than 275,000 new companies in the UAE in just one and a half years, and by the end of 2023, there were more than 788,000 active economic licenses in the UAE.
The parties discussed the importance of increasing joint efforts in the tourism and aviation industry and explored innovative strategies to strengthen air connectivity and facilitate the exchange of tourism flows.
The United Arab Emirates and Estonia experienced a significant increase in non-oil trade in 2023 with a growth rate of 76.2% compared to 2022.
In addition, the UAE's re-exports to Estonia in 2023 have increased by 66.3%.
