Abu Dubai National Oil Company (ADNOC) announced the signing of a 15-year contract with the heads of EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG (EnBW).
According to Amac news: According to this agreement, Abu Dubai National Oil Company (ADNOC) delivers 0.6 million tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) annually to EnBW, one of the largest energy companies in Germany.
Liquefied natural gas (LNG) is mainly sourced from the low-carbon Ruwais LNG project currently under development in Al Ruwais Industrial City, Abu Dhabi.
The Ruwais LNG plant will be the first LNG export facility in the Middle East and Africa region to run on clean energy and use the latest technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) tools to minimize greenhouse gas emissions and increase productivity. .
This contract is the third long-term liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply contract from this project. Deliveries are expected to begin in 2028 with the start of commercial operations.
The LNG contract is subject to a final investment decision (FID) on the project, including regulatory approvals and the negotiation of a definitive sale and purchase agreement between the two companies.
Once completed, the project will more than double ADNOC's LNG production capacity to around 15 mmt/h.
