The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) has published a report that the production and sales of automobiles in China had a rapid growth in April.

According to Amac News: CAAM said that automobile production in China reached 2.406 million units in April, which shows an increase of 12.8% compared to the previous year. Sales also reached 2.359 million units with an increase of 9.3%.
According to the CAAM report, the production of new energy vehicles (NEV) reached 870 thousand units and their sales reached 850 thousand units, which increased by 35.9% and 33.5% respectively compared to the same period last year.
According to the report, the sales of Chinese-branded passenger cars reached 1.272 million units, which accounted for 63.5% of the total sales volume. Their market share has increased by 8.4 percentage points compared to the same period in 2023.
Chen Shihua, deputy secretary general of CAAM, said that in the first four months of 2024, the market share of passenger cars with domestic brands exceeded 60 percent. This figure was 63.5% in April.
