The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GCAA), the civil aviation department of the UAE, has published a report for the first three months of 2024, announcing that the number of passengers at UAE airports has reached 36.5 million passengers.
According to Amac News: It has been said that the recorded figure shows a 14.7% increase compared to the same period last year.
General Administration of Civil Aviation has stated in its report that this breakdown includes 10723639 arrivals, 10874232 departures and 14944466 transit passengers.
It is stated in the report that the air transport sector also had a significant growth of 32% in the first quarter compared to the same period last year and a total of 1.1 million tons of cargo was moved in the first quarter of 2024.
This volume included 269,526 tons of imports, 119,490 tons of exports and 714,446 tons. Of the goods in transit, national carriers led approximately 68% of all air cargo movements during this period.
