The local officials of Herat province report the increase in trade and commerce between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan through Turghundi port.

According to Amac News: Officials of Herat's Turghundi commercial port say that more than a hundred freight cars and three trains with many wagons travel between Turkmenistan and Afghanistan every day.
According to the officials of Turghundi commercial port, oil, flour and some grains are widely imported from Turkmenistan and dried fruits from Afghanistan are exported to that country.
