Officials of the Afghanistan Railway Department announced the opening of the construction of the second phase of the fourth section of the Khaf-Herat railway project.

According to Amac News: This section is about 47 kilometers long, the total cost of which is 53 million dollars, and this project is supposed to be completed and put into operation in less than two years.

Gamma Joint Stock Company and two companies from Turkey and Russia are jointly working on this project.
Officials at the Afghanistan Railway Department say that this is the last part of the Khaf-Herat railway project, which starts from the Rabat Peryan area of Zinda Jan district of Herat and reaches Khawaja Abdullah Ansari International Airport and Herat Industrial City.
Officials say that with the completion of this phase, the regional connection project of Herat to Iran's railways and ports will be completed, which will provide an opportunity to increase the level of transfer of commercial goods between Central and South Asia.
According to officials, the construction of the Herat-Khaf railway line from Iran to Rozanak area of Herat has been completed.
